Things that make you go hmmmm
Yesterday, around lunch, I noticed while walking down 2nd Street, I lost my stylis for my phone. Although a bit sad, I knew I couldn't complain much since I've had my phone 3 years and it was the original stylis. I have also been planning to buy a Centro within the next month so it seemed like Kismet.I get home, talk to Josh who asks "Did you lose a stylis?" Apparently he found mine while walking down the Saturn St steps. Guess I'm destined to hold it just a little longer.
On a sad note, I watched the first DVD to the second season of lost. I enjoyed it so far better than the first however when I grabbed disk 2 from the Netflix sleeve, it had disk 1 inside. To be sure I wasn't a nut case I reopened disk 1 and sure enough there were two. Ugh!

Milk
The castro has been transformed for the making of Milk. The movie that will be based on the life of Harvey Milk (being played by Sean Penn-I know... interesting).... 440 Castro aka Daddys signing has been transformed into Toad Hall an old bar that was there in the 70s. Many other stores are being done for the remaking of this movie. Feel free to check out my flickr photos for more store front changes. Next Monday night they will be recreating the march and I signed up to be an extra. Im anxious to recreate a piece of history which is so significant for gay rights, in which I wasnt around for.Posted by Des at 05:58 AM | Comments (0)

San Jose/Caltrain
So yesterday evening, I set out for San Jose. My first time riding Caltrain not to mention first time really in the south bay. I was a bit nervous but I did fine. Caught the baby bullet and was there in an hour.Davids company was having their holiday party and put us up at the Saint Claire hotel. David bought a bottle of Skyy for the room and the party was downstairs.
I met the people David works with and all seemed cool. The switch was on and I was alive. I had to be entertaining so I could live up to being the coolest and funnest boyfriend ever.
All was great. They loved me and David won a Nikon Coolpix S200 and we cut out to head around the block to Hunters (one of San Joses gay bars). We were drunk by 11.
Awake at 7 and feeling some energy I hit the fitness center for an hour. I was worried I wouldn't be able to workout this weekend but it worked out great. Since New Years, I've been doing 5 or 6 days a week at the gym. Its hard to get back where I was last May but I'm determined.
Now on our way back to San Francisco. Tonight the K9 Unit is helping with a fund raiser for rocket dog rescue. If you're around the Powerhouse this evening around 10, stop by and say hi.

Beach Blanket Babylon
So David collected last night on the Christmas gift I got him. Dinner at Stinking Rose followed by Beach Blanket Babylon. We got the the Stinking Rose about 3:40 which worked out great because the original reservations were at 4 and the rest of the evening wouldnt have worked out as perfect as it did.
Dinner was great, and a good thing we both like garlic. I had the Lamb Shank and David had the Pork Chops. We had the swiss fondu for an appetizer, and a glass of wine each. It was delightful and the waitress was wonderful.
We finished around 4:45 and headed to Beach Blanket Babylon Boulevard where we stood in line behind about 5 people. 2 guys and a girl behind us (the guys were family) and we all had a good time waiting till the doors opened at 5:30. The straights in front of us seemed to start growing while we waited. Apparently a girl with about 40 tickets in her hand was waiting for many others to show up. Thankfully they were on top in the balcony.
At 5:30, we went in. My goal was to get the table that was shown in Tales of the City where Mona and Mrs Madrigal went to see the show. As luck had it we did. The two guys that were behind us in line sat next to us and David and I got a bottle of wine. I stole the bottle (since David wanted a keep sake) and the show was amazing.
I dont believe I stopped laughing for more than a minute and they covered everything from Hilary 2008, to Nancy Pelosi. Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lil Richard, and my favorite were the poodles. The poodles made me think of several pups I know. David gave me a big glare and quietly said "dont". Guess no barking for me *chuckle*.
The biggest thing I cant believe is that Ive been here almost 4 years and havent seen this show yet. Either way, Im really glad that our night worked out so well and I couldnt think of someone Id rather spend such a great evening with than David.
We came home after instead of going out for a drink. We started watching Bam Bam and Celeste (Margeret Cho movie). I fell asleep as David continued to watch it. When it was over, I woke up and David turned to let me know it was the worst movie ever. I dont think Ill waste my time.

Home & Powerless
Ugh....storms. Although I'm used to rain and expect it, I think this is the first major power outage I've seen since moving here. I'd just go for a drink but I'm supposed to patrol tonight which once again they are waiting till the last minute to cancel. So I have to be here till 6pm, in the dark, and sober. UGH
sadness is coming home to find both your roommates sitting in their rooms in darkness and silence, just staring out ahead of them because theyve been sitting without power all day. One was just watching the rain through the sliding glass door in his room. The other sitting in darkness, staring at the walls. I was like "Awe, thats sad".
The other was after the power came back on. Im on the phone with David and the door bell rings. SFPD is there responding to a 911 call apparently made from a landline phone within our apartment. Funny is, we do not have a landline phone and Im the only one home at this time. I hope the lines werent crossed somewhere and someone who is desperately needing help isnt receiving it because of such.
Man, its a whacky day
Update: Power came back about 5:30, and patrol was cancelled. I built a fire and watch Ugly Betty Season 1.
