Birthdays

Yesterday started out as what would appear to be a bad birthday. I tossed and turned all night, and work consisted of trying to communicate with people who just couldn't grasp that their trouble really had simple solutions. They were bent on the fact they had a problem and wanted it to be a major problem. They weren't understanding the simplest things I was saying and wanted to argue that the mouse was a lot bigger than it was. As soon as we came to a solution, I had them on phone and chat so long, they used that line that makes me cringe "well since I have you on the phone".

Needless to say calls were long and my day was just frustrating. The best solution I had for salvation was to take the fork that was sitting on my desk and jab it into my throat.

Finally my work day ended and things took a fantastic turn for the better. I met Elizabeth (my old coworker) for coffee. We spent about 20 minutes catching up and I had a great time. Then off to meet Rick and Timm for a drink at the Mint. I arrived and they were sitting there. They got me a bottle of vodka and a HUGE martini glass which reminded me of the one we had at Tara that was once used for tips.

Joined after a while by John, and finally David showed up, it was a great time of singing and friends. We stayed about 4 hours and I sang about 10 tunes.

Dont Tell Mama
They Dont Know About Us
Your Song
Razzle Dazzle
Class (which I sang with )
Grease Megamix (with the 4 of us)
There Are Worse Things I Could Do
The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
Hot Shot
Wasted On The Way
Your Song
Big Spender (for David who got a new job making more money to buy me more cocktails-Congrats!)

I cant remember all the songs but I finally ended with what I thought was my best yet rendition of All That Jazz. Off to the Edge for one and then home.

Tonight is Avenue Q. I cant wait. It should be a blast.

Thanks guys for making my birthday fantastic. I love you!
