Straight People in Castro
So the more and more straight people I see in Castro, the more and more I want them to leave. I understand they want a nice neighborhood to live in but let's look at reality. There is a reason a gay neighborhood is safer and nicer.
I got on Muni tonight and took a look around. I saw some shady people and some drunk people. I saw some decent, regular joes too. The people I saw who would make me a bit afraid were the younger, straight, drunk folks. I'm not saying some gay men aren't scary since I do know several in the leather community who are but I still have a certain safety I feel even when I see a stranger in leather I haven't met.
The drunk straight girls in Castro need to leave. The gay boys need to realize although they can drink, have fun, entertain, and in most cases hold their liquor, their straight, female, counter parts cannot.
Sure they love their gay friends, they are after all fag hags but have some tact girls. Drink moderately, get your energy from within rather than relying on the energy from the booze and your gay friend and please don't bring any straight boy along whom you've had to ensure several times that night "it will be fun". They won't fit in with the gay men so leave them at home and don't force them. It only leads to violence.
With all of this and a quest to have a peaceful place to live myself, I would love to see the straights have their own nice area to live that's affordable. Based on the info its hard to create a haven for straights unless you can pay the price. If you can there is always Pacific Heights.
On a completelye different note, I was walking down Castro and I walked by a cute guy who I heard say "ooooh Daddy". When did I become a Daddy? wow that made me feel old.
