Busy are the days

Ok, so I havent written in a while. Sue me! *smile*

This was a really busy weekend of picture taking and fun.

Friday night I actually left SF and went to a party in the east bay. I figured I should start hanging out with people if I wish to make some friends, so off I went to a place called Fruitvale and home I came around 4:30am.

I was originally planning on leaving early and being home around 1am however when it got close to 11pm I didnt want to leave so quickly since everyone else was staying. A guy I had met, and someone who apparently everyone else wanted me to meet, said he'd give me a ride back to the city. He only lives a few blocks away. Finally around 4am, he was ready to go. I didnt mind too much about getting home so late. It was a good time and well worth the venture.

Saturday we went to the conservatory at Golden Gate Park. Josh wanted to see the Natures Pharmacy exhibit and I wanted to take pictures. The conservatory is great experience for photography and I got a chance to use my super macro again which I love. Josh wasnt too happy with the exhibit but for me I just love the conservatory so I think with everything it was a wash. Its the second time there and we both agreed this time that the one in Highland Park in Rochester is still a bit better.

Saturday we started the day with lunch at Starbucks. My boss gave me a $25 gift card for Starbucks out of the blue and I figured it was a great time to use it. We had sandwhiches, coffee, and desert and still had some remaining on the card.

Now off to Berkeley to pick up our friend Matt and head to Six Flags Marine World. I was excited since I love amusement parks and havent been there since last summer on my birthday. I bought a season pass for 2006 and with it, I got in for free to this years fright fest. It also came with a coupon for a guest and all for a low low price of $55.

I wasnt going to bring my camera with me but glad I did. I think I captured some of the best photos Ive ever taken. Mixed in a bunch of so-so pictures are several great pictures of butterflies which were done using the regular macros feature on my camera. Ive been doing a lot with the super macros lately but this was the first time using the regular macros and what a difference it makes.

Another set of pictures that I was pretty proud of, are the time exposure shots. This was the first opportunity, being around lights when its dark, that I had to use this feature that Ive been wanting to play with for a while. It was worth the wait since I think I captured some great photos including one that reminded me of a kalidescope.

Finally home around 10pm and exhausted from the weekend. Work came too early this morning but I survived. I think I slept through most of the phone calls today and its a good thing I can do the job in my sleep. Apparently its true since I felt tired, withdrawn, yet still seemed to make people happy. Go me.....

And how was your weekend????
