Another Exhausting Weekend But Fun

Friday night was good. Josh and I decided to head out for dinner. I knew a place off Divisidero on California and we decided to hop the 24 bus down there for grub. It was a decent place that we have ordered from before at work and I wanted Josh to try it since they had a lot stuff on the menu I thought he would like. It was good but for some reason I think its better when delivered. Guess I dont expect too much with delivered lunch as opposed to going some place for dinner.

I was going to go out but instead I was enjoying the togetherness that Josh and I were having. It just seemed like a night to stay in. We came home and watched a movie which wasnt really the greatest. It was Hide and Seek with Robert Dinero and it would have been better unseen. At least that was my opinion and Im sure it was close to others opinions as well. It didnt really matter much to me. Spending some quality time together was worth more than any movie.

Saturday started out early. Steve came along with us after we all had brunch at Chow. I have to say, I love their brunch, and we all decided their french toast is one of the best ever.

We started out at Urban Outfitters where Steve needed to exchange something. Steve and I agreed how we hate taking stuff back unless we have to. Josh is just the opposite and has absolutely no problem returning stuff he doesnt want.

From there it was off to Ross and Marshalls. I was hoping to find shoes or sneakers but Ross didnt have a great selection and Marshalls shoes were put away awaiting a new and improved shoe department.

We then went to Loehmans and finally FCUK. Not much there and FCUK was out of size small in the sweater Josh was hoping to buy. After debating just how to work it, he finally had them call the LA store who will be sending it right to the house. He should have it this week.

Several outfits and utter exhaustipon, it was time to go home. It was fun spending money and shopping especially when work is footing my bill.

Saturday night we hung out with Rob and Rick over at their place. It was kind of nice hanging out with another couple for a change.

Along with hanging out with Rob and Rick, I received a call from my friend Marc. He was a bit drunk and in Philadelphia on a layover. He was calling to tell me about a guy he saw in a bar there who was from Rochester, but couldnt remember his name. Its funny how it works and as it turned out I did know the guy and remembered him. After catching up a bit, he did mention that he was almost definitely getting laid off from the airline again and was considering moving to SF. It would be cool to have someone else I know living here in the city.

After several UV's and Iced Tea's I was ready for bed. Home and to sleep for us.

Several things happened on Sunday. First, I called my friend Rachel in Ohio who I havent really talked to in a few years. It was great catching up with her. Sometimes as life goes on, people who were close to you at one time, start living their lives as you are living your own and you kind of lose touch. Its always nice when you can reconnect and catch up. Its nice to know friendships are strong enough to handle the distance between us and still be as strong as they once were.

Sunday was also Castro Street Fair. It was a good time. We started with a gay.com brunch which included several people that Josh and I knew from online and there turned out to be about 20 people all together. We went to chow once more.

After brunch it was off to the fair, where Josh handed out some hand outs on the corner, which was a first time for him. It was nice to see how many people were taking the hand outs and nice to see him working hard to get things going. Hopefully the turn out will be successful and he will get a few more clients out of it.

After walking around for a little while (once he was done), we parted. Josh had plans to meet his friend Barry in Berkeley and I was going to meet Jay. Well needless to say, I hung out by myself for about an hour and started drinking before Jay showed up. I got to meet the guy he started seeing, who is really a nice guy. Cute too. He really needs to have a nice guy in his life and hopefully it will be something that lasts a while. His friend Diane, who had moved here from Rochester just this week, was with us and the 4 of us hung out for a bit.

Again drunk and exhausted from the sun, the walking, and the booze, I came home and went to bed.

It was a great weekend.
