Moving Day 1
So last night was fun. I went out to the Pilsner and ran into some people I knew. I was feeling like I needed a bit of alone time, so I went out by myself. I ended up running into a few people I knew and had a great time.
Got home about 12:30 and ready to get up early to start moving. This morning started slower than I had hoped. I was always used to moving day meaning we got up early and busted our ass all day. This wasnt the way it worked today.
I got up early and waited for Josh and Steve to wake up. They showered, and we went for breakfast around 11am. We went to Bagdad Cafe which I always enjoy and finally after a few errands, made it back to the Market St apartment around 1. By the time we brought the first load of stuff over, it was around 2 and by the time we decided we were done for the day, it was around 6.
We moved most of the stuff to the Saturn St apartment but there is still a ton of stuff left to move. We will take care of that stuff tomorrow before beer bust and hopefully have Monday off to recover and organize everything.
I got a call from Jason today. Finally after a week and a half of phone tag (well me persistantly calling him), he called to tell me what I already expected. He isnt going to come to visit Tuesday as originally planned. Sucks that I went through all the trouble of figuring out the schedule, paying for the ticket, only to have him cancel at the last minute.
He's paying me back for the ticket however its still a bit depressing. In some ways its good though because even though I would have loved his company, the timing wasnt all there. I took off 2 days of work and with the 4th of July, it would have been 3 days without pay. Now at least Ill get to work 2 of the 3 days and it wont be so bad.
Along with that, it gives me a bit more of a chance to get the apartment together for when my sister comes at the end of the month. Hopefully she wont cancel lol....
So thats about it. In the new apartment and really enjoying it. Enjoying the space, enjoying the view, enjoying the washer and dryer (which Josh is enjoying as well). It really feels like a fresh start.
