Pride Begins
Last night I met up with some friends from Rochester who was visiting Jay who had moved here in December. It was nice seeing those guys and hanging out for a while at the Lone Star. For those of you who know me, I dont leave Castro often to go drinking and last weekends adventures to Polk Street and Stud were enough to last me a while.
The Lone Star was a bit crowded (I mean its a bear bar after all) and there were some hot guys there. I flirted with a few but mainly enjoyed hanging out with the crowd I was with. Jay offered to drive me home which I was a bit surprised. I mean it is San Francisco and easy to get around by MUNI. I accepted and it was home for me.
They came in and saw the apartment which they thought was nice. I guess Im just used to living here and cant become too attached to the place since we are moving in a week. I just remember the excitement when I was moving here and seeing the pictures of how great this place was (still is). Its a shame it isnt big enough to accomidate the 3 of us.
So today has been a busy day. Woke up, had coffee, and went down to Castro for food. The place was a bit busier for 10am but nothing intolorable.
I ate at Posh Bagel which resembles Brueggers in ways. I stopped at Cliffs to get a globe for the ceiling fan (it broke about a week ago). Who knew such a small hardware store carried all those things you would think would be impossible to find.
So back home to clean. The landlord wants to show the place tomorrow morning in hopes in renting the place asap after we move out.
After cleaning, a nap, and finally finishing one of the required books for work, Im out in Castro again for more food.
The place is hopping already with people getting a head start on the pink party. Its funny but last year I felt more energy about pride here, being it was new. This year it seems more of an inconvenience with lots of loud, obnoxious, gay men who have invaded my home. Guess I shouldnt see it that way but it does get irritating to listen to and I hate crowds.
So welcome to pride weekend. Pink party....oh boy!
