Castro Street Fair

So I guess to start todays journal would have to begin with last nights end. Last night in many ways was an eye opener for me. Josh and I had a talk and it was one of those talks that you dont want to have but are glad you had it once its over and done with.

I think being apart from each other there are certain things that are left out when we finally do get to see each other. The issues that most couples get to discuss as they happen, are ones that through distance dont always get addressed when they should. Being that we see each other now ever few weeks, the time we spend together is quality time. Time enjoying each others company and doing things together that make the relationship special. With that, we tend to be in a better frame of mind and those issues we have both been having dont seem to matter much. Although they seem insignificant, they still needed to be talked about and we did. Im so thankful for that. I now know more about what he feels and what his perception is and he knows mine.

So this morning I woke up and was in a glaze, just thinking about our conversation. We talked a bit more, reconfirmed how much we care about each other and we remembered how we felt about each other from the beginning. Its nice to know that after all this time, and although we are both going through a lot of changes, we still feel for each other like we did before and still see those things that made the other special to us in the first place. I came to the conclusion that no relationship is perfect and we are both fortunate to have the other in our life because we bring to each other so many positive things.

With that told, on to breakfast. We made raspberry pancakes this morning with raspberry sauce. They were a bit soggy but not bad for the first time. Next time remember to drain the raspberries before adding them to the pancakes in order to prevent the juice from making the pancakes soggy.

So after breakfast we had cleaning because my landlord was supposed to drop by. Not that we needed that as an excuse but still the same, I wanted the place to look extra clean since we havent met her since we moved in. First impressions say a lot. Never the less, she never stopped by.

We took off to the Castro Street Fair. Wow! It was much like cornhill festival with more artwork in the form of photography and prints. Add in some leather, some massage work, lots of food vendors, some pro gay christian groups, and the sister of perpetual indulgence and you have the Castro Street Fair. Lots of guys and lots of people. We met up with a couple of friends of mine and pretty much kept to ourselves. It was a great day.

Josh left around 5pm and had to pick up a girl he goes to school with. Im glad she needed a ride and couldnt leave until after 5 because he was originally going to leave before the fair. It gave us the chance to go together and enjoy the day.

Finally, I took a nap and went to meet my friend Ben (he works at Starbucks and gets me free bags of coffee). Came back home, chatted with our friend Rick for a bit online, did some thinking, and now ready for bed. Exhausted from the weekend, I dont want it to end and just feel like I want to sleep forever. Ok perhaps just a few days but alas work tomorrow.

That was my day. May not seem like much to others but it was a great day for me none the less. Hope everyone else had a fantastic day
