Folsom and other stuff

Ok.... God this weekend went by so quick. Im trying to think about how to sum it all up.

Friday night Josh stayed in Roseville. I never made it to the bonfire and went out drinking as you know from the last entry.

Saturday I went out and bought some rechargable batteries, waited for Josh. He finally got here around 5:30 YAY!!! I was still kind of feeling down about things but we made the best of it. We had wanted to go to the art exhibit but after rereading the article in the paper, it never said where the exhibit was. I tried searching online and through the rest of the paper but nothing. So with limited time we ended up just deciding to skip it and would go to the Shakespeare thing in the park.

Normally I would say that was a flop but there was some good stuff for me that came out of it. I had to figure out the bus schedule because driving in SF actually takes longer with all the traffic here. I got a bit frustrated but finally figured out where we had to go and how to get there. It was actually my first time figuring out the bus lines by myself rather than following someone who knew. That was an accomplishment and a milestone for me. Its one of those little things that is filed under the "getting to know your city" catagory.

So we picked up sandwhiches from this little shop across the street from my apartment along with potato salad, some blue berries, and a chocolate bar for dessert. We packed up the blankets and made a thermos full of tea and everything was bliss. I brought my new digital camera with me to take some pics. Hooray, we were on our way.

We get there and first of all the ground is wet. We were so far in the back of the crowd that it was difficult to see. The sound was so poor we couldnt even follow the show and Shakespeare is not easy unless you are listening closely lol. Oh did I mention it was cold down by the water?

So we left after enjoying our food and tea. A flop some may say but it was nice to cuddle with Josh, drink tea together, eat our food, and just spend some alone time together. Id walk on glass or walk through fire for those moments. So we left and caught the bus back. We decided to take a bus which I *thought* would take us closer to Castro. It did but not where I thought. It did allow me to take a picture of Castro at night which was great because I got to try out the night settings on my camera (the main pic now on www.desmondsdoghouse.com ). Ok so some of this has no excitement to you but was fantastic for me. We grabbed my roommate and went to Sweet Inspirations. You may have heard me mention this place but its my favorite desert/coffee house. Came home went to sleep at 2am and Hooray its "Folsom Time"

Folsom (pictures can be seen at www.desmondsdoghouse.com/Folsom )- Day in a quick recap. I wore my harness, collar, and leather cap(go figure), along with pea green cargo pants and boots. Josh, a jockstrap, cowboy hat, and cowboy boots (go Josh). I was anxious to get there to try and find several people I knew were in town from Rochester. I was ready by 11:30. Josh and St3ve (the 3 is silent and he is the roomie), didnt realize why I was anxious so they took their time. It was also new to me and pretty much *not* so new to them so it wasnt a big deal for them to get there. With all of that, we decided to eat first. Then St3ve decided he wanted to drive his own car (which is a 2 seater) so he could leave if he chose to. This ended up delaying things until 1pm when we finally left. I was frustrated at this point and just wanted to get there. Because of the parking situation and now driving Josh's car (instead of just taking the MUNI), it took us about 1/2 hour more to just find parking. We finally got there at 2:45 and I was happy to just be there finally.

I will say, there is a God because with my feelings of missing Rochester and in desperate need to find some kind of connection, I ran into Fugly within the first 10 minutes. He was there with Tom and Brian and although we only talked briefly, it was enough to close the gap on my feelings of homesick. At least for now. I then finally got a hold of Greg and met up with him as well briefly.

The rest of the day we spent hanging out a little with a new friend Rob(who moved from Rochester about 4 years ago). We ran into Ben, Steve, Tod, and Ian, along with a bunch of diaper boys. Ran into several other people that I had met here in SF along the way. It was nice to introduce Josh to some of these people Ive met along the way.

We split up for what we decided would be a 1/2 hour. Of course time flies so fast and it was a quick walk to 10th Street with Rob. I waited back at the corner for Josh who had lost track of time himself. He finally made it back there about 1/2 hour late. I was a bit pissed at first but finally let go on our way home. I can totally understand how time could fly by and not even realize it there. It happened to me as well but I was lucky to have someone say after only 15 minutes (its 4:45 now) which had me in shock. At that point I said goodbye to Rob and headed back to the corner asap.

After Folsom, we came back home, ordered BBQ for delivery (makes me miss the Dinosaur BBQ) which was ok. I got tired real quick and ended up just going to bed.

Here I am Monday morning recaping the weekend. I will most likely call in sick today 1. because I feel I havent had any time to relax this weekend. 2. I want to spend more time with Josh and 3. I havent called in since Ive been here and can use a mental health day.

Well thats it. If you made it through, Congratulations I know its long. Hope everyone else had a fantastic time.
